Gemma - Managing Director
Hi, I’m Gemma, the founder/owner and Managing Director of Mini wAVe Experience. You have hopefully read the 'about me' section which delves into my personal life and reason for starting this business. In my professional career, I have worked with children since the age of 14, and have been a teacher for over 16 years in varying roles (some senior) and have been fortunate enough to teach every year group, therefore have a sound knowledge of the National Curriculum. I currently teach 2 days a week in a local primary school. My passion is Early Years Education, and I have spent many years in this area and built the business around my extensive knowledge and expertise. My creative side also allowed me to come up with new and exciting classes for the community and in Schools and Nurseries! Most recently, I have enjoyed teaching all of the Primary Range through school and at home tutoring. For this, I use the National Curriculum to plan but use my expertise in order to create innovative and exciting way of learning! My personal teaching philosophy is that all children can learn when they are accepted for who and where they are in their educational journey. They learn best through discovery and exploration and their own experiences; effective learning requires collaboration between the teacher, children and parents which is grounded by mutual respect and trust, and this is embedded into all of our classes here at Mini wAVe Experience. When you come to our community classes, know you are welcomed, supported and accepted. You will see me running some community sessions as well as some of the nursery sessions, as well as overseeing the other community and in school/nursery classes we have. I also tutor in Medway from preschool to age 11.
Sara - Class Leader (Bexley areas) and Supervisor
Here we have Sara (PRONOUNCED SARAH) who is a class leader and also Mini wAVe Supervisor! What an asset Sara is. She is warm hearted, kind and so enthusiastic. She keeps things running smoothly and we would be lost without her! Sara runs multiple nursery classes ranging from music and movement to yoga! She also helps support new members of staff within their training here at Mini wAVe. Here is a little more information about Sara in her own words.
I’m Sara! I’ve worked for Gemma at Mini wAVe for over 2 years now. In 2 years, I have taught so many incredible children and it is wonderful to go into so many nurseries and see the children grow and develop in many ways. My sessions are usually full of fun, magical sensory experiences and lots of dancing and bubbles! Since being with Mini wAVe, I have been fortunate enough to run the community classes, special events and the nursery classes and have enjoyed finding creative ways to keep both children and adults entertained.
Emma - Class Leader (Bexley areas)
This is Emma. Emma has been working with us for 1 year now and is a Qualified Primary School Teacher. She runs many of the Nursery sessions in the South East London area and is a big hit with staff and children alike! Emma is fantastic and she is a real blessing to the team, nothing is ever too much trouble and she really gives it her all. Here is some more information about Emma in her own words.
Hi, I’m Emma! I’ve been working with children for the past 13 years, 9 of those as a qualified teacher. Early years has always been where my heart is - I love watching little ones explore, experiment, get messy, and learn through play. I truly believe children should be free to enjoy the process, not just the end result - that’s where the real magic happens!
I’m so excited to be part of the Mini wAVe team. I've experienced first hand how exposure to music is a powerful way for children to communicate and help build strong, trusting relationships between other children and adults, as well as being lots of fun!
This adventure also gives me the chance to spend more time with my own four children (who definitely keep me busy!) while continuing to do what I love. I also love all the wonderful children who I'm meeting on this exciting journey!
